Introduction to Meditation
“The mind is definitely something that can be transformed and meditation is a means to transform it.”
- Dalai Lama
Studies have proven that having a regular meditation practice can do everything from alleviating your anxiety to improving cognitive function, lowering your blood pressure, improving sleep patterns and even slowing down the aging process. People who regularly meditate report feeling calmer, more in control, less snappy, and can handle life's challenges/to-do lists/daily tasks with more grace and ease.
Using a mantra-based meditation technique, this 2-hour beginners workshop can be done online or in person and gives you an insight into the deeper practice of Transcendental meditation (think of it as a beginner's version). Mantra-based meditation helps control emotions by quieting compulsive negative thinking and has been proven to have extremely positive effects on the brain, including improved brain function and decreased symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, and depression. It can also help with PTSD and reduction in sleep issues and symptoms. The practice is also known to help build resilience, develop discipline, and cultivate more self-compassion. It's a simple but highly effective technique and many of these benefits can be experienced by quieting the mind for just 10 to 15 minutes a day. This type of meditation is a super helpful tool to add to your wellness toolbox and the results can be transformational.
In this guided one-on-one workshop, you will learn the benefits and history of meditation, basic breathwork techniques to help deepen your meditation, how to discover your own personal mantra and guidance on how to practice this effective mantra-based technique. Take-home manual and meditation starter gift set included. On-going support on your meditation journey will also be provided.
Course cost £150 (Online) £170 (In-person)
